What is boardima.com?

boardima.com is a platform for finding and listing boarding houses, houses, and annexes for rent in Sri Lanka. We connect property owners with people looking for accommodation.

How do I create an account?

Click on "Register" or "Sign Up" in the top navigation. Enter your name and email address, create a password, and verify your email address. Once verified, you can start using the platform.

Is it free to use?

Yes, creating an account and browsing listings is completely free. Property owners can post listings at no cost.

Account & Profile

How do I verify my email?

After registering, check your email inbox for a verification link. Click the link to verify your account. If you didn't receive the email, check your spam folder or request a new verification email.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click on "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email address and we'll send you a password reset link. Follow the instructions in the email to create a new password.

How do I update my profile information?

Go to your Profile page and click "Edit Profile". You can update your name and other account information there.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from your Profile settings. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data, subject to our data retention policies.

Property Listings

How do I post a property listing?

After logging in, click "Post Property" in the navigation. Fill in all the required information about your property, upload photos, and submit. Your listing will be reviewed and published.

What information do I need to provide?

You'll need to provide property details (type, location, price, bedrooms, bathrooms), contact information, and at least one photo. Additional details like deposit amount, utilities, and availability date are optional but recommended.

How do I edit or delete my listing?

Go to "My Properties" to see all your listings. Click on a listing to view details, then use the "Edit" or "Delete" buttons to make changes.

How many photos can I upload?

You can upload up to 6 photos per property (1 main image + 5 gallery images). We recommend using high-quality photos to attract more interest.

What is NIC verification?

NIC verification is a process to verify landlord identity. Submitting your NIC (front and back) helps build trust with potential renters. Verified landlords get a "Verified" badge on their listings. Your NIC images are stored securely and are never publicly accessible.

Safety & Security

How do I report a suspicious listing?

If you encounter a suspicious, fraudulent, or inappropriate listing, click the "Report Listing" button on the property detail page. Select a reason and provide details. Our moderation team will review the report.

What should I do if I encounter a scam?

Report the listing immediately using the "Report Listing" feature. Select "SCAM" as the reason and provide as much detail as possible. Never send money before viewing a property in person.

How is my personal information protected?

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Contact information is masked by default, and sensitive documents like NIC images are stored securely and are never publicly accessible. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

What are the rate limits for contact reveals?

To prevent abuse, contact reveals are limited to 10 per hour per IP address, and 20 per day for logged-in users. This helps protect property owners from spam and scraping.

I have a privacy request. How do I submit it?
